DTMF by Bad Bunny: Must-Hear Tracks
Growing up in New York, I'd heard Bad Bunny played in the club.
I had one or two of his songs in my playlists, but I wasn’t a true, true supporter until his 2025 album, DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS.
Now, before you say I’m someone who just hopped on the bandwagon: uh, no. It was my number one played album and artist of 2025, thank you very much.
Anyways, back to the article. I’d always lumped Bad Bunny in with other artists, until I started watching his PR interviews for the album. Rather than just being passionate about his art, Bad Bunny was passionate about his people, his community.
Listening to DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS made me feel like I was part of something, like I’d pulled up a chair at a familiar family gathering.
If you have the time, I highly suggest listening to the album all the way through. It’s the perfect soundtrack for dancing and cooking in the kitchen.
If you don’t have 62 minutes to spare, give some of my favorites a try:
DtMF -- most popular, surely you listen to this first.
This is the title track off the album, and also a popular hit for a reason: it's so good. DtMF stands for DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS, which translates to I Should've Taken More Photos.
EL CLub
I'm not going to lie, I've never searched the lyrics of this song until now. I've simply just vibed out to it, even memorizing the lyrics. Give the song a little bit to get started, you'll be glad you stayed around a minute twenty. This song is about being drunk in the club, and holy heck, what a time it would be getting to dance to this at the club.
NUEVAYoL
NUEVAYoL surely will put you in a good mood. I swear, Bad Bunny sprinkles some seasoning into his tunes because just like after a great meal, you'll be happy dancing. I recommend checking out the music video: it features a little dig at a certain politician.
KETU TeCRE
45 seconds is where you need to make it to, for this song. Once you hit that mark, you'll be hooked. Just give it a few more minutes, because that last drop is going to get ya. Some people think that this song is about Kendall Jenner, and how she wasn't over her ex, even though he was so into her.
LA MuDANZA
If you like trumpets, drums, and Puerto Rican sounds, you'll like LA MuDANZA: Bad Bunny's love letter to Puerto Rico. The song features a tribute to his parents, culture, and even language -- Puerto Rican Spanish is different to other dialects, and that's okay.
LO QUE LE PASÓ A HAWAii
A slower song, LO QUE LE PASÓ A HAWAii, we hear a calmer Bad Bunny singing about colonization, comparing similarities between Hawaiian and Puerto Rico: colonizers thriving and natives pushed out onto the streets.
EoO
After that last song, let's end on a BANGER. Now, this song will make you dance. There's absolutely NO WAY you can sit still while listening to this song. A rather vulgar song, this tune is more like his previous reggaeton tunes -- which honestly kept me off his older stuff. With the vulgarity tucked a little more hidden in this album, it worked for me. This song is such a slapper though, so if you're a little more reserved, maybe skip this one.
About Bad Bunny and DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS:
The album is about more than just taking more photos with your phone; it’s about how your perspective shifts over time. As you get older, you start to see things differently and realize just how many great moments you’ve already lived.
“You see things differently when you’ve spent time away from them [your home],” he told Rolling Stone. “When you’re looking at them from afar, you appreciate them more.”
If you’d like an in-depth breakdown, I recommend checking out posts by AnnualMap2244 on r/Spanish.
I think this album transcends language. You can hear -- through the choices and the production -- how much care went into it. And being at a transformative age myself, now understanding the meanings in English, it’s no wonder I was drawn to this album.
