One Night at Adamsons Riverside Accommodation
We're heading to Margaret River for one night, solely for a friend's birthday.
She'd offered for us to camp in her yard or enjoy her couch, but I knew that my partner's back would much prefer a bed to lie in with my future self enjoying the same.
For exactly that reason, I booked a room at Adamsons Riverside Accommodation, which claimed to be "just thirty metres from the riverside in the heart of Margaret River, for the best of both nature and night-life."
With prices from $165 a night, it was also perfectly within our budget.

In addition to the great location, Adamsons Riverside Accommodation had several other draws: they host live riverside concerts and support equal rights to education.
Their website has a badge of support towards Freedom Through Education Nepal which tries to keep children educated and involves navigating systemic and economic barriers, despite legal protections against caste-based discrimination.
Freedom Through Education Nepal is fully volunteer-run, based on the saying by volunteer and founder James Spence: "These children had a chance to escape poverty if they were educated. Enabling them to read, write, and do math had the potential to change everything."
I was impressed to learn that every dollar goes directly to supporting children and families in Nepal -- no money from donations is used for salaries or administration in Australia.
To be so honest, though, it was the duck feeding that won me over. Their booking.com photograph was a duck, I had to run with my heart!

First Impression
CUTE! The main strip of Margaret River was so much closer to the accommodation than I'd expected -- it's literally a two minute walk to the Margaret River Bakery and a bike rental!
The envelopes that they had our room keys in had DUCKS.

Location
The Adamsons Riverside Accomodation is located at one end of the main strip of Margaret River. It's beside a bike shop, has trail and river access, and is close to several cafes, restaurants and shops.
The Room
We stayed in a Queen Studio, which was cozy. With wooden paneling and a strip of carpet, I felt like we were in a cabin rather than sharing a wall with neighbors next door.
I can't say too much about the bed or the rest of the room, as we'd returned in the early hours of the morning and caught a few zzzs until we woke to the sounds of people checking out.
The showers were hot, the place was incredibly clean, it was a great place to stay and I'd totally stay again.
We did notice a beeping sound when we'd arrived and figured it was probably just the smoke alarm needing a new battery. We let someone at reception know, allowed them access to the room, and came back later to a perfect, silent room!
Checking In/Out
Checking in was so easy! We arrived a few minutes to two o'clock and were pleasantly surprised to see our room number and name listed on an envelope within a lockbox. Using a code that they'd emailed us, we easily grabbed our keys and made our way to the room using the map hanging up.
Checking out was even easier! At a quarter to ten we dropped our keys in the lockbox and made our way towards Cowaramup!

Quick review: exactly what we needed for one night. If you just need somewhere to sleep, it's perfect. If you're looking to stay in the room a while, you may want a larger room. Either way, great location, clean, and super easy to check in and out! Staff is super friendly, too.
