Non-English shows to watch on Netflix this month
If you haven't entered the world of foreign-language and non-English TV shows, you really need to start.
Did you know that Spanish telenovelas are so dramatic? Or that Korean cuisine can be so light?
These are just some of the things you'll learn when you start watching these four non-English shows on Netflix this month.
Just Alice (Latin-American Spanish)

Set in Colombia, Just Alice is a twisted love story. It features a woman, Alice, who has two husbands. She thinks she's juggling the two well, until their worlds collide. Just when you think the drama is over, the writers manage to add a new twist. Filled with juicy drama and a great cast, this show is honestly great dubbed or in Spanish.
Culinary Class Wars (Korean)

I'm going to be so real with you: I'd never really given Korean cuisine much of a chance. Sure, I love bulgogi, bibimbap, and kimchi, but I was never one to deviate from my usual three. I'm so thankful for this show, because it's not only reignited my spark for cooking, but has also introduced me to the world of Korean food.
The show features celebrity chefs and up-and-comers who battle it out in the kitchen. While I don't consider this show particularly binge-worthy, it's a great watch while you're cooking your dinner.
Amsterdam Empire (Dutch)

If you're a fan of crime, cannabis, and chaos, Amsterdam Empire is your next binge. With only seven episodes, you'll probably watch it in one sitting -- just like I did -- and you're going to want more. The show features a cannabis shop owner who cheats on his wife, and the fallout that ensues afterward. Hint at the main issue: although selling and possessing cannabis is legal in Amsterdam, growing it is not.
That Night (Spain Spanish)

That Night is a crime thriller is set in Spain and the Dominican Republic. I'm not too sure how exactly to describe it without giving away spoilers, but I'll give it a shot: three sisters are on vacation in Punta Cana when they get involved in a hit-and-run. Each episode follows one of the characters and their lives after the accident. Gut-wrenching, confusing, and leaving you with hope, this show is definitely binge-worthy and definitely worth your watch.
